This group exhibition, open to Central Interior BC artists, explores the theme "Found". The experience of coming across something unexpected can be delightful or terrifying, but that moment of discovery is often long remembered.

Although some discoveries are inconsequential, others have life changing potential: a house, a soul mate, a job. For an artist, a find?perhaps a place, a collaborator, or a technique?might result in new work that either incorporates that discovery or focuses on it as subject matter.

Part of the crowd at the March 11th Exhibition opening reception.

Artists have long used found material andobjects as the basis for collages and assemblage, sometimes because of the object's qualities and sometimes because of how or where it was discovered. Visit the Gallery and see how discoveries have impacted the lives of artists.
