This exhibtion features recent acrylic paintings on canvas by Prince Rupert artist Edward Epp. Epp has shifted his attention away from the land and sea in recent years, focussing now on the floatplanes and fishing boats that are common to Prince Rupert, but also familiar to many other remote communities. These forms, emerging out of the seascapes he had been painting, represent a natural progression for Epp. More than just a compelling new subject matter, these vessels are loaded with meaning and metaphor that addresses conditions of isolation common throughout Northern BC.
