Fall 2008 Studio Programs for Adults
Ahhhh, September! The kids are back in school and its time for you to get back into the swing of things. Learn a new technique or tune up your creative instincts.
Adult studio programs vary in length and duration and are appropriate for ages 16 and up. Please refer to course descriptions for details of what you will learn and for information regarding materials. Two Rivers Gallery Members receive a 10% discount on all classes and workshops. GST is charged on all programs.
Please Note: Art class instructors open the Gallery specifically for classes on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. For security reasons the doors will only be open for the 15 minutes before the class start time. Please be on time.
Refund policy: Payment is required to hold a spot in each class. If you cancel more than 48 hours prior to the start of first class, you receive a full refund. Cancellations after this time are subject to a $20 administration fee and the cost of any classes taken and materials used. We will not issue refunds after the second class.
Self Directed Life Drawing
Tuesdays: October 7 - December 2 (No class on November 11)
8 sessions, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Give yourself some dedicated time to develop your drawing. Work from a
variety of live, undraped models at your own pace and within your own
agenda.
Bring your own materials.

Mixed Media Painting
Tuesdays: September 30 - November 25 (No class on November 11)
8 sessions, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm or
Wednesdays: October 1- November 19
8 sessions, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Facilitator: Maureen Hamilton
The sky is the limit! Join Artist Maureen Hamilton and stretch the
boundaries of your paintings. Experiment with acrylic mediums, collage,
texture and computer resources to create mixed media works on canvas.

Write, for the Love of Art!
Thursdays: September 18- November 6
8 sessions, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Facilitator: Cy-Thea Sand
This class is a fun opportunity to explore how art objects may open up new
avenues in your personal, creative or professional writing. Take pleasure in
and deepen your appreciation of the vibrant relationship between words and
images. Learn from others through writing exercises and discussions.
Suitable for the curious and creative among us!

Mysteries of Watercolour Uncovered
Thursdays: September 25 - November 13
8 sessions, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Facilitator: Wendy Framst
Have you always wanted to try watercolour painting but never known where to
start? Then, this course is for you. Learn some of the tools, tip and
techniques that watercolour artists use. Topics include: which end of the
paintbrush is up, colour theory, masking, value and more. A sense of humour
is a pre-requisite.

Jewellery Weekend
Saturdays: November 15 and 22
2 Sessions, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Facilitator: Wendy Young
Learn all about glass and how to cut it, grind it and fuse pieces together.
Design your own fused glass miniatures and learn how to finish them as
jewellery. Make holiday presents or create something special for yourself
and have a great time doing it. Please bring safety glasses and a glass
cutter.
Fused Glass materials kit is supplied.
