Robert Davidson, C.M. and O.B.C. was born in Hydaburg Alaska and is arguably the most important First Nations artist in the country. He has had a tremendous influence in shaping the current face of Northwest Coast and in particular Haida art. This exhibition of serigraphs (silkscreen prints) organised and circulated by the Vancouver Art Gallery with the generous support of Odlum Brown, surveys almost forty years of Davidson's prints and provides a glimpse of the intellectual and aesthetic journey that has been his printmaking career. This exciting exhibition is comprised of work from the collections of the Vancouver Art Gallery and the artist himself and demonstrates the highest pinnacle of printmaking.
