Summer Classes PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Now that summer is in full swing and the kids have been out of school for over a month maybe it`s time to think about a little creativity to take up some of the kids energetic days.
Summer Art Camp at Two Rivers Gallery is in full swing and there are a few spaces available. Classes run until the end of August with two sessions: one in the morning from 10 to 12 and the afternoon session runs from 1 til 3.

Classes are suitable from 5 years of age with special sessions provided for the 10 to 18 year old set. The younger group, from 5 to 10, have themed classes every week - It's Carnival week from August 10 to 14th , the week after its Space Week which will be outta of this world and the final week August 24th to 28th is a childhood favourite and that is the age of the Dinosaur!

This week we are loaded with teens drawing their hearts out with Manga. Now for those of us older than 35 Manga is a form of anime or animation drawing that started out in Japan - it`s all the rage with young people as skill can easily develop through a formulaic approach to drawing. If that`s wasn't your teen`s cup of tea there is also a session on printmaking experimenting with screen printing, lino cuts and stencilling on all sorts of materials.

So you see there is no reason to get bored this summer and an added bonus is that the gallery is probably the best air conditioned building in town.
