2017 Summer Creativity Camps

Our Creativity Camps offer fun activities for kids entering grades 1 - 8. The weeks that feature 'Intense Art' activities are for kids 9 - 13.

Camp Hours:  9am - 4:30pm (programmed activities:  9:15am - 4pm)

Fee: 194 | Members receive a 10% discount | sibling discount available (see below)

  • July 10 - 14: Colour Play (FULL): Join us for a week of exploring colours and experimenting with different mediums. We will be using bubbles to paint, dabbling in psychedelic colour mixing, and even creating some colourful sculptures and recreating dreams. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • July 17 - 21: Intense Art: Let's Paint!  (ages 9-13): join us for a week of exploring colours and experimenting with different mediums. We will be using bubbles to paint, dabbling in psychedelic colour mixing, and even creating some colourful sculptures and recreating dreams. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • July 17 - 21: A Splash of Paint: join us for a week filled with watercolours, pointillism, tempera, and acrylics as we introduce different styles of painting in fun and creative ways. From abstract to printings this week will be a blast for kids who love to get messy and experiment with colour. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • July 24 - 28: Abstract Art (FULL): This will be focused on looking at the word differently. We will be using everyday items such as buttons and pillow-cases to make beautiful artwork, as well as learning about sculpting, cubism, and other forms of self-expression. This week will be great for any kids who want to express themselves in weird and wacky ways. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • July 31 - Aug 4: Intense Art: Serious Drawing for the Fun of it (ages 9-13): This week will be focused on more advanced drawing techniques through fun and entertaining projects. Join the Two Rivers Gallery as we explore the worlds of blind contour, self-portrait, oil pastels, and of course abstracts in this fun and drawing intensive camp. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • July 31 - Aug 4: Let's Draw (FULL): This week is all about the different ways one can explore drawing. From using charcoal and pastels, to reimagining scribbles and creating optical illusions – this week will have students learning new skills while creating fun and entertaining projects. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • Aug 8 – 11: The Art of Food  (FULL) (Short week - fee reduced to $155): This summer camp is all about using different materials to make delicious looking art projects. We will be creating slimes, fruit squishies, embossing foil art, and much more! We will also be partnering on Wednesday with Le Cercle at the Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park to create some delicious campfire food! In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time!  
  • Aug 14 - 18: Intense Art: Exploring the Third Dimension (ages 9-13): Join us for a week of creating three dimensional arts using a variety of materials ranging from clay and string to resin and duct tape. This week also has the added bonus of a field trip to the Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park to do an activity with REAPS (a local non-profit recycling group) and learn more about up-cycling crafts and our impact on the environment. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • Aug 14 - 18: Building & Sculpting (FULL):  Join us for a week of creating three dimensional art using a variety of materials ranging from clay and string to resin and soap. This week also has the added bonus of a field trip to the Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park to do an activity with REAPS (a local non-profit recycling group) and learn more about up-cycling crafts and our impact on the environment. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • Aug 21 - 25: Intense Art: Join the MAKER Movement (FULL) (ages 9-13): This is our advanced class for our MakerLab Program and will include the utilisation of a variety of materials to create tile paintings, terrariums, and duct-tape wallets, along with many other activities that involve building and hands-on creation. This week’s focus will be on showing students how to create art using different mediums both traditional (felting and printing) and innovative (up-cycling). In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time!
  • Aug 21 - 25: Be a Maker (FULL): This week, we'll explore the gallery's the MakerLab program and showing students how to create sculptures, kites, and other hands on building projects. This week is an awesome opportunity to allow kids to work with new materials and explore different styles and artistic techniques. In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 
  • Aug 28 - Sept 1: Dramatic Art (FULL): This week will involve a variety of hands-on activities related to the creation of movies, plays, and costumes. We will discuss story boarding, claymation, and even magic wands during this exciting week of exploration and adventure! In addition, we will also be encouraging active play by going to the park once a day and heading to the pool on Thursdays for some swim time! 

 

*Sibling discount for Creativity Camps

If you are registering two or more siblings living from the same household in the same camp, the second child and any additional siblings will receive a $10 discount on their registration fee(s).

This discount would be on top of a  10% members’ discount.  If you would like to take advantage of this program, please register in person or over the phone, as our online system is unable to process the discount.  Thank you.

Refund Policy

Two Rivers Gallery requires payment to hold a spot for camp. If you cancel more than 48 hours prior to the start of camp, you will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the start of camp or after camp has begun.
